Signs that the 1997 F1 World Champ is finding it hard to locate a career in racing; GMM announced that he will be driving in Speedcar next.
Sigh. Hinting at becoming a NASCAR Roadcourse guy like Boris Said is even more saddening when you think about it.
Villeneuve to attend Bahrain Formula One GP : -
1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve will attend the Bahrain grand prix next weekend.
The 37-year-old French-Canadian, who lost his BMW Sauber seat in 2006 and headed to North America to begin an abortive NASCAR career, has been signed up to contest the last two rounds of the Dubai based Speedcar stock car series.
The penultimate round takes place as a formula one support event at Sakhir next weekend, before the series – featuring identical 620 hp cars – wraps up in Dubai a week later.
“Speedcar will give me more road racing experience with this kind of car which will be useful in future NASCAR road courses events, and it’s also a great excuse to meet race fans,” Villeneuve is quoted as saying in a statement.
He joins fellow ex-F1 stars in the series, including Jean Alesi, Johnny Herbert, Stefan Johansson, JJ Lehto and Gianni Morbidelli.

Is it me or is JV just a pin ball bouncing from series to series?
oh. and what is speedcar?
ok, checked it out on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedcar_Series
interesting driver line up, with the likes of johnny herbert, jean alesi, narain karthikeyan, and ex minardi driver, alex yoong. it’s a total spec series. i guess it’s the NASCAR of europe. maybe it ’s the more dignified way to end a career then the american series.?
Or he could just drop off the face of motorsport. It doesn’t take long to forget :D ,…especially JV.
Didn’t he make enough money to retire? Maybe he could start a music career or something?
Oh wait, never mind that would be a horrible idea.
Oh Wait, he already did that.
Oh the heck with it how much more embarrassing can it really get at this point.

I agree Podium, the driver lineup is great.
