Denial – KERS…

July 31, 2008 by Negative Camber

Max supposes the teams that are suggesting the time line for KERS is too aggressive is just nonsense. He thinks BMW should have known better than run their system with no grounding to dissipate an electrical charge that injured a mechanic two weeks ago. Max thinks Red Bull were like children playing with model airplanes and thus caused the recent fire at their facility through negligence and over stressing the battery.

Max also thinks that the increase in costs in F1 to develope the KERS system will be a drop in the ocean compared with the benefits to road cars in ten years time. Uh…I thought we were curbing costs not looking for a place to absorb R&D for the worlds cars. Wait a minute, isn’t that what F1 is all about? Developing technology that benefits the world through road car applications? Oh, wait…was that why we have an engine freeze? Or is that the reason we are not allowing T-cars to races? Oh hell, now I am really confused.

Yeah Max… its clearly the ENGINEERS’ fault… because obviously those guys who understand more about the complexities of HOW to implement system and the challenges they’re facing don’t know as much as about it as a politician.

If you feel lost, you could ask Ron to clarify you. His rich speech sure will guide you as a bright star on a dark night.

  3. Like a lighthouse on a foggy night. ;)

  4. Benalf says:

Max is right, he was a physicist before becoming a barrister, I wonder why he switched in the first place…..I am serious, with the appropiate grounding, you shouldn’t charge the car chassis….. Max, help!

  5. Jim says:

There’s a photo on autosport of the BMW engineer who got electrocuted lying in the ground in pain. this guy has probably got degrees in engineering, and all kinds of other qualifications beside the obvious one that he helped build the car in the first place. I think it is a slap in the face to those guys especially him for Max to say that stuff

too many whacks to the rear end have jarred his brain loose

  6. Architrion says:

oouauuu, the rear end… I wonder how much it is opened wide?

  7. WonkyDave says:

I know they hate eachother, but I’m starting to think that Max is buying into Ronspeak.

The all seeing, all knowing, all spanking president has spoken!

  9. Don says:

    educate me, please… what is a T-car?

    thanks

  10. Lady Snowcat says:

Interesting bit on KERS system on the 5Live F1 radio programme on now…

  11. Don,

In the past, the teams would bring a “third” car (T derived from “third”) for a spare ready to run in the event there was an accident that damaged the main car of either driver and they needed a back up. As it is now, they can bring all the parts needed to build the car on-site but they are not allowed to bring a T car. It’s nonsensical.

  12. McCale says:

easy on max guys. he’s had a rough couple of months. he’s going through a little bit of sexual withdrawl right now, as you might already know, so he’s a little unrational and moody .

and might i add, i didn’t know you could post HERE, holy crap f1b is awesome. so this is my first post yaaaaaaay
that does explain a few things aboot the podcast though.

  13. Dude!?!? Of course you can post here. Welcome to F1B. :)
