Ecclestone: Won’t let F1 ‘disintegrate’

Bernie Ecclestone says that after 35 years and a divorce, F1 has consumed his life. He is not about to let it disintegrate into a split and ruin his life’s work. Telling the Times:

“I have given 35 years of my life and more to Formula 1,” Ecclestone said to The Times newspaper.

“My marriage broke up because of Formula 1, so I am sure as hell not going to let things disintegrate over what is, in the end, basically nothing.

“If you analyse the problems, there aren’t any that can’t be easily solved.”

Better start peddling quicker Bernie, Flavio is at full steam and charging ahead. He is probably getting comfortable with the idea of the being the proverbial “Bernie” of the new FOTA series.

yeah, of course Bernie the problem “can easily be solved”: YOU AND SADO-MAX GO OUT OF F1! PLEASE TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY AND RETIRE!
in this way f1 won’t be disintegrated.. let’s disintegrated Max and his FIA dictatorship! :)
i really hope Montezemolo and Briatore are serious this time.. Italians do it better!

And I’ve just heard Exxon is pro-Kyoto.

      AHAHAAHAHA
      Good one, Entropy.
I hear the Fuji GP has found funding for the future diluted F1: Japan Against Whaling, JAW. You’ll see on-track ads as well as limited commercials during the race where The Bernie saves a whale.

  3. Jim says:

Bernies marriage broke up due most likely to the massive neck strain his wife suffered looking down at him. The probelm could have been solved easily a long time if he had not backed Max in his ridiculous ideas for the future of F1 and had let the man take the fall for not being more discreet in his personal life. Bernie could always go back to his previous job living under that bridge collecting tolls

    Ignorant troll

How about all of Bernie’s other issues?! “Hey Argentina, we want to come, build a new track!… oh and Canada & Imola who have a good tracks already, F off!”

By the way, I’d like to share a pretty good write-up on BBC with you guys:

We can see what is really putting FOTA off. The teams apparently had agreed to sign up till 2012, but when they got the papers back from Mosley, he had changed the date to 2014, I suppose hoping they would not notice.

Ecclestone can’t let it disintegrate. Financially he has much to lose.
When he speaks to his years involved it is really more about his money involved or at risk.
I think he will do anything including the disappearance of Mosely or more to protect that wealth.
He may indeed love the sport but we will see truly how much.
    What will be Wednesdays announcement?
    I cannot wait.

Methinks Bernie spent too much time in marriage counseling alone.

  8. raithrover says:

Max and Bernie show is due for replacement. Bernie has to get involved because as Flav says, Max is going on personal attacks when he doesn’t a respectable background himself. I don’t think there can be any agreement now with the involvement of Max, he has lost all credibility in the eyes of the FOTA members.

    • What do you think Raith? You think Luca is going to call for Max’s resignation Wednesday at the WMSC meeting? You think FOTA and Bernie can work together or will Bernie demand 50%, which isn’t going to work for the series (new or old).

  9. JYS Fan says:

Ha haaaaaa, hohohohohohoho… Bernie isn’t going to let F1 disintergrate! ha ha ha ha ha…

Bernie, it’s too late you and Max have screwed it up so badly, the only way to fix it is to blow it up and start from scratch!

    John “Go FOTA Go” Stone

  10. The thug life mafia are done, they should just walk away gracefully at this point, but grace is something neither Bernie or Max understand.

I really hope FOTA get on with it, I will watch their Grand Prix, and if the comes back to the USA I’ll go to their races. If we do get a FOTA championship never again will I got to or watch Bernie’s.

If I could have one private desire for this new series, it would be to see a FOTA Grand Prix race at Laguna Seca.

  11. D Noakes says:

FOTA realised that their sum was greater than the whole of their parts. As a unit, they are the ultimate force in F1. Something Mosley et al failed to spot. Likewise, if the fans became a united force, we could all make a change for good…
    F1 fans unite in revolution!
There is strength in numbers. So, imagine if the 200million or so Formula One fans who watch races on TV and follow the sport on the internet were united.

The collective benefits would be enormous. That’s precisely what a new web based organization is doing. Launched this week, FormulaOneWorld.com is mobilizing fans globally to revolutionize how they enjoy their F1. And it costs nothing to join.

The 1st stage of development is under way, with a free @FormulaOneWorld.com webmail address and service now available. As well as being an impressive and mobile communications tool, the webmail is also the site login, giving secure access to the additional content as it goes live. And again, this will be free of charge.

Within weeks, the 2nd stage will provide social networking and micro-blogging, connecting webmail members from the 4 corners of the F1 world. This is not just for multimedia socializing and comparing how Formula One is enjoyed
internationally. But gathered as a cohesive mass of like minded millions, it should give fans a voice: Despite being the secret of the sport‘s success, F1 fans still do not have a say. And, as the sport is currently undergoing enormous change with a “New Formula One World Order” emerging, it is time fans participated in similar discussions, as a collective group. They have an opinion on how to guide improvements to their sport. And the Formula One World
team intend pressing for the right for their opinion to be heard.

Finally, the 3rd stage of Formula One World’s development, due within a couple of months, will revolutionize the fans online experience; A range of bespoke applications, currently under wraps until launch, will uniquely merge with the
best of the current F1 web, extracting more value in the process. The objective is to appeal to all ages, deliver maximum entertainment and create the definitive point of reference for F1 online.

The fun is not just isolated to the web, as future Formula One World developments will extend the community benefits to localized F1 events and retail leisure operations such as restaurants and bars. We understand we will get to hear about those proposals in subsequent communications, along with visuals of their plans.

Formula One World has exciting ambition to provide a ground-breaking community for the fans. Using cutting edge technology to entertain is precisely what Formula One is all about. Plus, it’s a refreshing change for the sport to be
inclusive rather than exclusive, as it costs nothing to join. However, as their website states, they need the fans to commit to them, so they can commit to the fans. Seems fair. Particularly when it’s free to grab a great webmail address.
