Mosley lashes out; may not step down…war on!

Apparently the rumors of his demise as the FIA President were premature. Max Mosley has unleashed a tirade toward Luca di Montezemolo that only the narcissistic megalomaniac could pen. Vitriol swimming from his pen like diced piranha, Max is furious at what he has seen in the press about his martyr, defeated, immediately replaced, thrown to the curb status following the WMSC meeting on Wednesday. An ego like this won’t go quietly. Unfortunately for Max, he has no leg to stand on and Luca has more clout than every before. The fans reaction to his stepping down over the last 24 hours has been astounding and that won’t be lost on the CVC or FIA member clubs. I can understand the humiliation he feels but quite honestly Max needs to understand that he brought it on himself. He has spent a lifetime of blaming others for all shortcomings but he has always been the least common denominator to F1′s issues.
“Given your and FOTA’s deliberate attempt to mislead the media, I now consider my options open,” said Mosley. “At least until October, I am president of the FIA with the full authority of that office.
“After that it is the FIA member clubs, not you or FOTA, who will decide on the future leadership of the FIA.”
“We made a deal yesterday in Paris to end the recent difficulties in Formula 1,” Mosley continued. “A fundamental part of this was that we would both present a positive and truthful account to the media.
“I was therefore astonished to learn that FOTA has been briefing the press that Mr Boeri has taken charge of Formula 1, something which you know is completely untrue; that I had been forced out of office, also false; and, apparently, that I would have no role in the FIA after October, something which is plain nonsense, if only because of the FIA statutes.
“Furthermore, you have suggested to the media that I was a ‘dictator’, an accusation which is grossly insulting to the 26 members of the World Motor Sport Council who have discussed and voted all the rules and procedures of Formula 1 since the 1980s, not to mention the representatives of the FIA’s 122 countries who have democratically endorsed everything I and my World Motor Sport Council colleagues have done during the last 18 years.”
“If you wish the agreement we made to have any chance of survival, you and FOTA must immediately rectify your actions. You must correct the false statements which have been made and make no further such statements.
“You yourself must issue a suitable correction and apology at your press conference this afternoon.
“Formula 1 is run entirely by our 25-strong team without any help from me or any other outsider. There was no need for me to involve myself further in Formula 1 once we had a settlement. Equally, I had a long-standing plan not to seek re-election in October. It was therefore possible for me to confirm both points to you yesterday.”
Max…just leave. For once in your life, take the lumps and the high road and leave.

“Michael Corleone Godfather III, “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.”
Substitute Max for Michael.
The drama continues this should be a soap opera.
A farewell to you Max no matter what.
or maybe subsitute for ‘bigus dickus’ from Life of Brian (Monty Python).
Is this guy for real? Doesn’t he know he’s making a fool of himself? He needs to go away…just go away…no one likes you or wants you around…
I don’t much care for Bernard either, but it is in his best interest to get this guy to go away. Max is single handedly destroying one of the worlds most popular sports and is potentially going to cost Bernie BILLIONS of dollars…
No surprise here, really. He’ll keep this up until October if he’s not dealt with properly. FOTA’s silence says it all. Seems the loonies aren’t that crazy after all…..Max needs to be buried, politically.
Max should not mess around too much more. Ferrari has…friends. These “friends” can be very…persuasive. His latest actions could make these friends very angry, and this statement could be very hazardous to his health.
No really, If Karma can finally smite down Michael Jackson, (That was a low blow, I know, sincerest apologies to fans) surely we can get rid of Max!
I really do wish we’d had the FOTA/IMG Championship, and was bitterly disappointed we’re still stuck in this shabby Bernie/FIA farce. Maybe, please, FOTA will finally do what is right, and just leave!!
Is like in horror movies, when the monster is apparently dead he wake up and try the last killing joke..
until october we won’t be safe?
I don’t know DB…
In horror movies, there is always a sequel…
The guy is like dracula…now will someone PLEASE put a stake through his heart.
ha ha no no i can’t effors max 2 the terminator… can we use a kers to build an electric chair?
i can see Mario Theissen cop-dressed saying to Nick and Robert “gentlemen, start your engine” (they got the face to the role in my opinion..)
I don’t know if we have to smile patiently as one do with crazy people, or we have to worry, and the only purpose of the deal for him was to survive till october and bring together f1 teams in order to be re-elected and start again with his crazy campaign.. next will be solar wings..
A shark, out of water.
Flapping about, he may well bite something before he expires.
LOL. Love the analogy, spot on mate!
I love the fact that he expects an apology as part of the “deal”…this guy is ego incarnate…
where is the apology to us, the fans, for what he has put us through and how he has misrepresented us in the media, SR?
;)
Mosley is gone! Hooray!
How the FIA can’t have realised that nearly all F1′s conflicts for years have stemed from Max Mosley, is hard to imagine.
Finally our good fortune, is that Max eventually attempted the impossible. How could anyone take a global sport like F1, with team budgets up to 300m and dictate that everyone will operate under a 40m budget cap the following year? More importantly, how could someone representing the sport, not have realised the implications on a sport/industry that leads the world in automotive technology.
Thank goodness it is now time for Mr Mosley to get into one of his dodgems and poodle off in any direction but Formula 1.
Ian
And so, I’ll continue to urge FOTA not to pursue elections and positions within the FIA but to create a new and separate series. Even if Mad Max gets removed, the political poison and debris he leaves behind will take years to purge. Worse, Bernie remains. His concern is for money, not the sport.
Fans for a new series unite! Viva la revolucion!
Cheers
To F1B or Top Gear, Re Max Mosley.
Enough is enough! What about F1B or Top Gear introducing a petition for people willing to stop watching F1 if Mosley should inconcaivably be re-elected?
You can take this as the first signature
Ian
thanks for the vote of confidence Ian. TG is a clear-minded and terrific person to lead the charge but us rogues at F1B? We’re a bit suspect. :)
I second your opinion and do know there are several groups out there leading a similar petition to unseat Max.
So, come on Max, if the whole World wants you to stay, publish the e-mails, faxes, letters and telephone conversations IN FULL, along with a list of who sent them, so we “The Minority” can see how wrong we all are to want no more of you EVER!
FOTA, I hope you are still doing the research (if only as an academic study) into the next real F1 just incase this “loony” manages to squirm back into our sport.
Max JUST GO!
Bernie, TELL HIM TO GO – it could be your last chance to keep your hands on the money, 2012 is not that far away and then all bets could be off for you and CVC, if Max has any more influence from now on it will surely lead to tears for the money men, because if you haddn’t noticed, your group is also not the flavor of the month either.

Amen Stuart. I think Bernie has been suspiciously quiet these past few days. I keep waiting for his comments but oddly, he has none publicly.
