I do think the ovals have a big part in the problem, but I'd like to see what they can manage with aero changes. Right now the cars, from what I've seen, just can't race close enough to really *work* on ovals; at least in Nascar the drivers can bump each other a bit. It's like watching a race on the 405 in LA.

I think the answer is somewhere between Indycar and Grand-Am racing. But maybe I'm looking for something too purist and racey.

Or, maybe the answer is F1 being here significantly.

Strange how i read an article today AFTER Tony's Departutre that they intend to allow the teams to change the aero. Seems like an idea that they have been working on for a while but held back on till Tony could not take credit or could not argue.

This can't be good for us F1 fans, Tony put up some big money to get F1 and probably lost money to host the races.

I am not sure about the IRL lately, the races have become less exciting especially on ovals. I am not sure that the IRL can survive on Top Stars like Dario and Scott Dixon. I cannot put my finger on it but it is just missing something special that F1 has.
