Bourdais had a second chance, after being destroyed by wonderboy Vettel.. this year he has no excuses, he had to outperform Buemi to stay in f1 but in general also Buemi, a debutant was better.
Even if he still deny having been fired, we have seen on tv during the race his emotional good bye with Ascanelli.
There are plenty of good drivers pushing to race in f1, and Bourdais has shown this year not to deserve a place in f1.

I watched some British F3 last year and the presenter there pronounced it as Al-jer-swaa-ree. Some say it could be Al-gwer-swaa-ree. Horses for courses it seems.

If STR were smart about their contract with Bourdais, there would have been a performance clause that allows them to remove him as a driver. I'd hoped that Bourdais would have a better season this year, especially seeing how quick the RBR cars are. I'm not surprised by this move, but I think STR is looking in the wrong direction for improvement. They're hoping to catch lightning in a bottle again like they did with Vettel, but really the main problem lies with the engineering aspect of the team. Although Buemi has outperformed Bourdais this season, neither driver has really been a threat to make it to Q2 on a regular basis let alone Q3.
