Big Cheers to Todd (NC) – Your comments on Nico echoes mine. He is complete package (though his car development abilities are bit suspect)
Grace – Macca can’t handle their drivers Period!!! and lets be realistic Sutil is best McLaren Option to play second fiddle to Lewis, Carry extra fuels, run older spec car etc…
Paul – Macca doesn’t like their drivers to give technical feedback, they believe more in their Woking based computers than the drivers. Zoom on Google Maps for Woking Factory you can see “Human Drivers Not Allowed” Notice :-)
Another, as usual, Fantastic podcast!
Thanks,
John “Vote for Ari” Stone
Welcome Back Grace
I will agree with Paul that LeSeb may be the best option for the second Ferrari. Personally I would prefer to see Alex Wurz just because it would give him time in the car and garuntee his seat in an F1 car for another team (USF1) in 2010. If Fisi does get it ..good for him. I wouldl ike an official investigation into Valencia as well…. In particular I would like the investigation to focus on who the hel thought it would be a good idea to add another streetcourse race when all they really needed was Monaco.
And let me just say that Somebody from Washington criticizing the driving skills of those in Boston is like Lewis complaining that is unfair how heikki gets all the new parts.
I think everyone is forgetting something AND are seeing Badoer the wrong way around.
Last First:
Imagine you are a F1 team with an empty seat. You cannot test Fridays, you cannot afford an F1 driver as a tester… the good ones are too much $… but you have a chance to upgrade your test driver by having him race. He won’t do well, you know this, this season is shot, they know that, but to upgrade the test driver, get real comparison data between his old test driving and the on-track, in competition trial? Totally worth the stick you take for putting Badoer in there.
KERS: + 35 kilos. Of course Kimi was loosing in sector 2… or course Fisi was faster in places… take 35 kilos out of the F60 and by-by Fisi on speed. But KERS worked well at Spa… so it is here to stay. You want to win? Get KERS or else. That’s the message.
I think after over 10 years as a test driver they know what they have got, if he needs training or “updating” it would be more valuable to get a new guy who will be testing futher into the future. luca was about done as a ferrari test driver even before this.
The season isn’t done yet as they still need to protect hird in the championship.
and ferrari have plenty of money for a test driver, they already have an expensive one if they need him (MS)
