Jim Russell School offers Formula 2 ride for series winner

Check this out folks; the Jim Russell Racing Drivers School is offering a fully funded seat in F2 for the winner of their championship series. I am elated at the prospect people. This will be a real opportunity for a future American driver. A clear path to F1 via the best racing school in America. Other school offer training but this is career planning and opening the doors that are otherwise airtight to young drivers. Check out the details below and if you are interested, check out the their website here.

F2The Jim Russell Championship Series announced today their plans for the 2010 season featuring a fully funded seat in the FIA Formula Two Championship to be awarded to the champion.

The 16-race Jim Russell Championship Series will be contested on a variety of configurations at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA (USA). The program includes driver coaching complimented by full data acquisition, media training and seminars on a variety of topics essential for today’s racing driver.

“The addition of the Formula Two award to our series champion firmly sets the Jim Russell Championship Series as the premier developmental formula car series that provides an excellent path to the upper echelons of motorsport,” said Jim Russell Racing Drivers School President, Chip Pankow.

This award is an extension of the Jim Russell concept of providing a modern and relevant car for young drivers to develop and display their talents. The Jim Russell FJR-50, a Formula 3 based car is an ideal platform to prepare drivers for Formula 2.

The 2010 Jim Russell Championship Series champion will automatically join the Jim Russell Future Driver Team and compete in the 2011 FIA Formula 2 Championship.

These drivers will be the first two in the Jim Russell Future Driver program and will have the opportunity to compete for the championship and Formula Two ride.
