There's one thing I don't understand about USF1 more then the rest, more then the lack of something people can touch and so on.
I don't understand why don't they go after Schumi as the experienced driver. If they play their cards right there's no reason they can't convince him to race, for say, 3 mill a year for two years. In addition, they could make a deal for Ferrari engines. (We know how important the US is for Ferrari so I think they'll make the deal.) The can tell Schumi he could raise his profile in the States. We all know he loves or great country.

If the guys at USF1 are doing their job without much noise, what's the problem with that? We are not their stockholders or registered fans so lets them make their work and wait until the winter testing begins. I dont think Windsor or Anderson are bluffing about racing in 2010; they have the door open on one side and the next-to-be former BMW-Sauber waiting on the other side of the room for a spot next year. We havent seen ANY 2010 car from the current teams, why should be different for USF1? Let's be patient...

I don't see why anyone would be surprised by all of this. They pretty much said and did all the things Craig Pollack did in the pre-BAR days. Only difference is they had a proven driver on board. Say what you will about my man JV, but a WC brings in money. Of course, Honda and Toyota have shown that it takes more that cash.

In terms of F1 secrecy, I wonder how much of the truth Bernie lets slip when he feels like it. When it is to his advantage of course, so the question then becomes, what did he have to gain by hinting that he didn't think USF1 would make it to the first race? Is it to his advantage to have them replaced by Sauber? I can see BE's regard for Peter Sauber being altogether different than for Ken and Windsor. Ken is an American, ,nuff said there, and Peter is a journalist, and in Bernie's mind, journalists are there to be used and manipulated, a means to his political end.

So the chess match continues, and one by one, the pawns are being taken off the board by the knights and bishops. So who's the real Queen of the board?

word has it that cosworth and USF1 don't have much communication which is odd as you should be half way through your chassis. Also some companies stated as working with USF1 haven't even met with them yet.
Also they are still waiting for qualified people who can plug those big machines in!

Todd AKA NC - Expectation of Transparency, Open and Honest Communication in F1??? You must be surely joking, How long have you been in F1? Hidden, Undercover, shrouded, those are the Key words in F1 at all levels, may it be involving F1 Fans (remember Indy 2005, or for that matter every result that was rewritten after the race in stewards office), may it be communication between team and drivers (Infinite cases to quote here), team and team ( McLaren/Ferrari Spygate communication), Teams-FIA-FOM ( Everything from GPMA days to FOTA) FOM/CVC- Race Promoters ( Silverstone/Donnington, Canada-Montreal, Magny Cours, SPA, for that matter all circuits on calendars)

Have you seen any transparency in the Examples Quoted above, So what makes you think that USF1 should be a team with the difference, they have to fit in the F1 culture and they are doing good job at, by these chaotic press bites
