Force India to test di Resta, Hildebrand

Highly rated Paul di Resta and some other guy will get a test run with Force India at Jerez on December 1-3. Di Resta and that other guys will both get a full run in a shared VJM02 as part of the Formula 1’s upcoming young driver test.

Paul di Resta is the Mercedes DTM frontrunner who was highly rated by Mercedes and was linked to a seat at FIF1 before they decided to stick with Fisi and Sutil. He just finished his third year in DTM and tested with McLaren at the end of last season.

JR Hildebrand is an American Indy Lights champion that apparently no one at Autosport could find any additional information on.

Di Resta:

It’s been a while since I last tested an F1 car but I’ve been working hard in the simulator and giving it my all in the DTM so I’m confident I’ll be up to speed quickly. It’s an exciting opportunity for me as F1 has always been my dream and I feel this is taking me one step closer to achieving it. I’m realistic that I’ve got a lot to prove and that I need a bit more experience of the cars and the F1 environment before getting a permanent seat but this is just the beginning of what I hope will be a very bright future with Force India.

Hildebrand:

I’m ecstatic to get my first taste of F1. I’ve heard so much about the performance of the cars and know this is going to be quicker and more responsive than anything I’ve ever sat in before. I know it’s a big challenge but I feel ready to tackle it. The aim is to learn the track and the car and then hopefully show my potential. As an American we don’t necessarily have the culture of F1 but anything that’s so impressive and cutting-edge demands respect. I hope I can do the car and myself justice.

Force India has yet to announce it driver lineup for 2010, however, rumor has it that there may be a push from “partner” Mercedes to get their man Di Resta in a seat. And of course, our favorite rumor of Jr Jr to the team.

Whatever happened to the happiness that comes with American Driver/Driver from American series getting a chance of F1 test :-?

I am sure Indian fans must be really p*&&^d off with Vijay Mallya, that he is consistently denying Indian Drivers Chandok, Narain and Neel Jani (Partially Indian) even a courtesy Test opportunity. Best thing is he raised hopes of Chandok and Jani by asking them to work in Woking Simulator.

Mallya is coming out as a spineless bloke, who will do everything to remain part of the “Playboy” Club. I am sure Max’s Underground Parties has more visitors than we suspect…

Hopefully Paul di Resta will do well and challenge for a seat.

If merc had a hand in getting DiResta a test why wouldn’t they give him a test with the factory team
