Well, I'm not sure about the donut thing, but for fcuk sake, let them celebrate and breathe a little bit more.
- We see the winner stepping out of his car, he goes for his team members, then Herbie (most likely) hurries him for the weighting process.
- Then they sit in that little room for about 45 seconds.
- Then that tall guy with the caps (and watches) hurries them to the podium. -- Don't know how it goes after the podium (commercial break) but I'm guessing they're also hurried to the press conference room.

Give 'em some time to chill a bit. I know it has to do with 'keeping up with the tv schedules' but we, the viewers, don't care that much for the delay. I love seeing the Massa-Alonso 'arguments' or Lewis and Nico being happy to share a first F1 podium (OZ 2008 ??). I know it'll sound silly, but I'm quite glad my local broadcast finally understood (since 2008) to not cut to a commercial as soon as the race ends, rejoining at the national anthems. I think it does bring the fans closer to the drivers in that we actually see them having sheer emotions. (On the pre-race grid, they're pretty much into robot-mode and it's totally understandable)

Were I a Narcsac fan, I'd really enjoy those pre-race shows (a bit too long sometimes) as they do give you insights about the drivers, the teams, the series' history.

Meanwhile in pre-race shows: lie-gate, crash-gate, DDD, spank-gate, court appeals, elections, FOTA/FOM....... I used to be a big fan of politics in general, but I think I get it all in F1 nowadays.

Anyway, good piece Laura. I think a good starting point to start enjoying Nascar a bit is to pick a driver (I picked JPM of course) and just follow his progression in that rolling bar on top of your tele screen. You actually can enjoy a few races from time to time.(true story)

Cheers.

F1 needs to stop just calling itself the pinnacle of F1 and start showing it to the fans (aka bernie needs to go which he never will so we're stuck with what we've got).
