Raikkonen, Loeb and Coulthard in 24 Hours of Le Mans?

Quoting autohebdo.fr and motorsportblog.it, Autoblog decided to run a story that suggest Peugeot will field a Red Bull driver line up of Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastien Loeb and David Coulthard for the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans.
With three official challengers and a fourth private car entered for the race, rumors suggest that this additional car could be host to the Red Bull drivers. The Peugeot 908 HDi is the reigning champion and although Mr. Joseph coins the Audi’s as venerable (for reasons unknown to me as the R15 is brand new), it remains to be seen if these rumors are justified with any sourcing other than speculation.
As speculation and rumor, let’s discuss the idea though. The rumor seems like wishful thinking and pure speculation to me but in the end, Raikkonen is in a sabbatical year and the lure of the Le Sarthe could be a compelling reason for him to entertain the idea. Loeb has made no bones about looking at other series to compete in and Coulthard is always up for a “man-challenge”.
Rumor? Probably. I good idea? I think it would be terrific to see them in the Peugeot 908 HDi and with Audi redoubling their efforts for Le Mans, the French squad would do well to place some serious talent behind the wheel.
How do you think Kimi Raikkonen would do in a 24 hour race? Could he be one of the new (old) breed of driver that excels in cross-series events like days of old? Perhaps F1, Rally, Sports cars and maybe Indy? The last journeyman to stumble across such success was Juan Pablo Montoya and he is currently holding his head high in NASCAR with good reason.

I heard this on Midweek Motorsport too. But it seems to me they were only discussing the possibility of it since Red Bull is rumored to be sponsoring a Pug this year for the race. I would love to see it happen but am not sure that they are just picking this up off of others specualtion
in my opinion Kimi isn’t interested in Le Mans, maybe i’m wrong but i’ve never read something about him and le Mans..
I would be surprised, in a positive way, it could mean he’s still hungry (correct word) of racing and rally isn’t enough..
Speculation it might be, but what a wonderful line-up.
David Brabham is currently well into his forties and among the elite of sportscar racers, so age should be no barrier for Coulthard, who is a few years younger. It would be great to see what both Raikkonen and Loeb could do with the endurance format.
So yes, it is nice to dream…
Awesome cat purrs in anticipation at such a lineup….. http://bit.ly/3mnxvz
