Reports: Di Grassi to partner Glock at Virgin

Brazilian media are reporting that Lucas di Grassi has signed a deal to drive alongside Timo Glock for the new Virgin F1 [formerly Manor] team in 2010.
The AP has the roundup of the Brazilian reports.
The team supposedly will be doing a major reveal on Tuesday, which seems the likely time when this move is announced officially.
Perhaps it isn’t the most exciting choice (which obviously is a contest between Nelson Piquet Jr. and Jacques Villeneuve), but securing a driver with experience testing and a knowledge of the rigors of Formula 1 seems a smart decision.
Anyone have strong feelings about de Grassi’s prospects?
And… just where does his signing leave us? USF1 may have one South American driver signed. Campos has an open seat. So does Renault. Torro Roso, too. Sauber’s still looking for a couple drivers.
Oh, yeah, and there’s that Mercedes seat, isn’t there?
