Dale Jr. among top paid Americans

Just ran across a list of the 12 highest paid people in America for 2009; Nascar’s Dale Earnhardt Jr. squeaked onto the list, which maybe was expanded to include him? Why not stick with the top 10, I wonder.
According to this piece, Jr’s “merchandise sales were ‘twice the total of any other driver,’” [it's quoting Forbes].
I wonder if Danica will knock him off in 2010?
