Hey, if USF1 can have an autoclave, we figured we’d sell “dream dates” with SJ Skid to raise money for our new Pod-o-clave…happy to report they don’t cost much as we didn’t raise much but it does do a good job of heating and forming a podcast. On second thought, next time we’ll offer “dream dates” with Grace, VMR and Mark Hallam…with that kind of dosh raised, we may buy USF1.

Steve Charsley’s is an absolute must for anyone who loves F1 stories. I liked his take on Bernie ‘the crusher’ Ecclestone who ‘appears’ foolish at times but never quite is.
The Thierry Boutsen going to Arrows anecdote was funny too (I feel for Paul!). And James Hunt!…
So much accessibility to drivers and pits is only something that sports cars offer at the top end of the sport. I remember coming across Alan McNish and Johnny Herbert at Le Mans in ‘04. They both just turned around hearing our ‘Victory at Le Mans’ shout and did not hesitate coming over for a quick chat.
F1, fortunately or unfortuntely, draws much bigger crowds (and interest). I doubt Fernando or Michael would be able to be this approachable.
Anyhow, good work Victoria. I hope one of you will be able to cover the Sebring 12 hours. That’d be very cool. “For sure”.
Thanks so much! I had an awesome time at the Rolex and would dearly love to cover Sebring. Alas, bills and the like force me to stay home. I do have more contacts in Grand-Am/ALMS now, so I’ll be sure to provide what coverage I can (especially over at my site On Any Sunday, These Days so the purely F1 fans doin’t get mad at me for taking up too much space at F1B with not-quite-F1 news :) )
