Twitter item of the day: Don’t bet with Marco Andretti

Folks, up front, a few things:

1. If anyone’s wondering, “What’s the point of these Twitter” posts, I think they are two-fold. The first is to acknowledge and follow the development of Twitter as a PR device for Formula 1 and motorsports, in general. That means showing a mix of the serious and the not-so-serious, because Twitter really allows a certain level of intimacy, or at least directness, that other media don’t. The second is just to have some fun.

After all, Formula 1 for the vast majority of us is a hobby. I don’t mean it isn’t a passion, but I mean “hobby” in the sense it is something we do to enrich our lives.

And to that end, it ought to be fun and enjoyable. So if there are Twitter items that I think are too hilarious not to share, well, I’m going to share them. But there is a method to the madness.

2. It is entirely possible I will have to rename this item the “Scott Speed Twitter Item of the Day.” Really, he could win it every day, ala Michael Schumacher and the fashion award.
