    Nice!
I shall enjoy the walk home from work much more now…

  3. royce amatique says:

Does it really cost $1000 for tickets to the Candian GP?

    • Williams4ever says:

There was bit of exaggeration there.. but tickets @ good spot will definitely cost around 200-300 USD and add logistics to that.

And F1 race visit for common fan doesn’t give any access to teams/drivers, unlike other series. So unless you have pit/garage pass F1 races don’t have much return for bucks. Having said that I have made some good friends from around the globe at the races I visited, that is definitely one benefit for lay fans to make a trip to F1 venue

so is that for grandstand tickets or general entry? I am going to go to the Oz GP this year for sure, I nearly went last year but didn’t make it.

The only thing is its going to be another one of these ridiculous twilight races where they will be driving into the setting sun. Another genius idea from the people who brought you the Malaysian GP timed to be right in the middle of the regular-as-clockwork afternoon monsoon.

    • No, Grace was talking about a total cost to attend. travel, hotel etc.

  4. Grace says:

Yeah $1000 is a little dramatic but it was a good couple hundred bucks for the three days at the track. Although the one year some guy in a bar was shocked that I, a girl, actually was interested in the race and my response was something snotty like “no I paid $500 to sit in the grandstands all day and sweat my butt off just to look cute” and he just looked at me like “sheesh lady, I was just trying to make conversation”

Long story short: I tend to use some poetic license especially when I’m in full on rant mode. There was a request for a Canadian GP race guide and I’m on it. Eventually.

  5. royce amatique says:

So ticket prices are about the same here, from AUS$99 for a general admin on Sunday (AUS$185 for all days) and then AUS$300 to AUS$500 for grandstand.

I will probably take a general admin since you can’t follow what’s going on without commentry anyway and its good to be able to walk the course and get different views throughout the race. It gets a bit boring sitting at the same corner hearing the same noise all race.

My word… That’s a bargain. Spa is the closest to that money I have found in Europe. British GP tickets are just ridiculous.

  6. Lotus99T says:

Grace! Thanks for the POTW award!

And Todd, thanks for the additional kind words.

I feel a warm and fuzzy inside. You guys made my day.

    F1B rules!
