Quiet day on the Twitter front, unless you were looking for news about Tiger Woods.

And so, my fellow F1Bers, I’m afraid we have to turn to NASCAR for our Twitter Item of the Day. And, even worse, we have to include some politics.

Quick background. California’s bigger-than-life governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is termed out of office this year. On the Republican side, two people are fighting for the “R” nomination: former eBay head Meg Whitman and another internet billionaire (or close), Steve Poizner.

And this weekend, they are fighting for “NASCAR” votes.

So, it isn’t just Formula 1 that is highly political!
