Which is better than Lopez with nothing.
Looks like the latest news out of Campos Meta is former US F1 driver Jose Maria Lopez will now serve as the team reserve driver. You may remember, that after learning that US F1 was falling apart at the seams, Lopez and his team were off to London to find the kid a ride and looks like they were able to find him one. Sure it’s not prime time, but a reserve is better than nothing and may actually work out better in the long run.
Victor Rosso, part of Lopez’s management team in Autosport:
There are a lot of chances that he will be a reserve at Campos. At this moment Felipe McGough [Lopez's manager] is finalising the details to release him from the contract with US F1 and to get his money back. It all depends on the termination of the contract. We made it clear to the Americans that he should not be treated like another businessman, but rather like a person that got the money thanks to a lot of effort and that this is the last chance he will have to race in Formula 1.
Well how do you like ‘em apples, US F1?!

What happens if the money is all spent? That would be interesting.
