Canadian Mikael Grenier has been announced today as an affiliate driver for KV Racing Technology. Grenier tested for the team at Sebring in November.

Grenier will take part in team meetings and will possibly test for the team, if circumstances allow that is.

“We are very happy to have Mikael be associated with KV Racing Technology,” said KVRT General Manager Steve Moore. “Mikael did a good job during the test earlier this year and we felt a more formal association was warranted. We look forward to having him attend several races this year in an effort to accelerate his learning curve with an eye toward developing a more substantial relationship in the future.”

Grenier has six previous starts in the Indy Lights series, with a best finish of 5th at Barber in 2011.

“I am very grateful to Kevin Kalkhoven, Jimmy Vasser and Steve Moore for the opportunity to be associated and work with KV Racing Technology,” Grenier said. “This is a great opportunity and I plan on taking full advantage, learning as much as I can. My goal is to race in the IndyCar Series and hopefully, this opportunity will help me achieve that goal.”

Great news! Although, I would prefer to see him have a race seat.
I’ve seen him over the years in Montréal and Trois-Rivières in Formula BMW, Star Mazda and Indy Lights and this kid is awesome.
It’s a pity that drivers have to come with money in this sport, cause this guy should be racing.
He’s the best upcoming talent in Canada.
Really hope he gets the race seat for 2015.
