Just when you thought it was done! Casey Stoner squashed any glimmer of hope, He wrote:

“Don’t believe everything you read! I Haven’t decided what I’m doing yet, of course V8 Supercars is on the cards. Will let you know when I do!”

One of the most anticipated announcements in V8 Supercars history looks to have been a pot stirrer by an article in The Sunday Mail newspaper in Adelaide yesterday. It is believed that a story that has been prepared in advance for the official program of the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide next month has been re-worked into a news story – claiming that Casey Stoner’s move from MotoGP to V8 Supercars is “official”.

Stoner was quick to close down the premature announcement, tweeting a denial a few hours after the story surfaced. Given long editorial lead times for such events, most stories for official event programs are prepared and kept under the table.

Hi, I have been a Formula 1 fanatic since 1987 when my family took me to the Adelaide GP. I now enjoy close friendships with team members at Ferrari and within the Holden Racing Team (V8Supercars).

So, then, what really is the truth? Will someone finally nail Stoner to the wall and force him to make a decision?

I think there are more than a few Aussie ladies who would like nothing more than to nail Casey Stoner against a wall. But like the headline suggests, they’ll end up disappointed.

Way below the belt there. ;-)

    • Why? Stoner doesn’t owe anyone a decision? :) – Though I do hope the report of him racing in the Dunlop series is true. It was even reported on the 6pm news on Channel 7 – Just ask my wife, she heard my cheers :)

He will be announcing his arrival in to the sport soon as this has been on the cards for sometime now and seeing that he will be racing a Triple 8 dunlop series car means that when he is ready to race in the main field he will be in the new REDBULL Racing Australia Team.
